Inventories

CHEMICAL INVENTORIES

There are two chemical inventory requirements - the annual chemical inventory and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) inventory of "chemicals of interest".

DHS "Chemicals of Interest"

DHS has issued Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) for all facilities that manufacture, use, store, or distribute certain chemicals on the chemicals of interest list that includes chemicals that present one or more security issues. In order to comply with the regulatory requirements, each OU PI is responsible for reviewing the chemicals of interest list and reporting the possession of any of the chemicals on the list through an on-line chemical inventory. Even though you may not possess any of the chemicals on the list, as a PI you are still responsible for completing the inventory. This inventory should be updated whenever there is a change in the PI's inventory and reviewed at least annually for accuracy. The OU DHS on-line chemical inventory is found at https://apps.ouhsc.edu/DHSIC.

Annual Chemical Inventory

As part of the OU Hazard Communication Policy and Program, departments/laboratories should submit chemical inventories to the EHSO on an annual basis.  For chemical inventories, there are a few methods in which to achieve this requirement.

For All Laboratories (all campuses):

For Non-Lab OUHSC/OU-Tulsa Settings (offices, clinics, shops):

For Non-Lab OU Norman Settings (offices, clinics, shops):

Electronic versions can be attached to an email to EHSO@ouhsc.edu  or EHSO@ou.edu (Norman)

BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL INVENTORIES

Biological materials inventories for the OUHSC and OU-Tulsa campuses are required to be submitted to the OUHSC Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) annually. For biological materials inventories, go to https://apps.ouhsc.edu/IBCinventory/newbiologicalovt/login.asp  To access this site, the PI will need to log in using the PI's username and password.
