Welcome to the Office of Human Research Participant Protection (HRPP) website. The HRPP was established by the University of Oklahoma to support the University’s commitment to the protection of human participants in research.
The HRPP not only encompasses the Institutional Review Boards’ review of research but also extends the mission to provide guidance and resources to investigators and research teams through education, quality improvement, and outreach programs.
The HRPP has earned full accreditation through the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs.Attainment of accreditation demonstrates the University’s commitment to excellence in research and the protection of research participants.
As the Organizational Official, my responsibilities include overseeing the HRPP on both the Health Sciences Center and Norman campuses and acting for and approving actions regarding and on behalf of the HRPP.

- Sandra Nettleton, Director of Compliance, oversees operation of the Office of HRPP for the Norman Campus.
