Safety Data Sheets

Safety data sheets (SDS) (formerly called material safety data sheets [MSDSs]), are required by law to be provided by manufacturers or vendors of products containing hazardous materials. SDS information will include information such as chemical composition, exposure limits, potential health effects, first aid procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and spill/leak procedures.

SDSs may be obtained in the following manner:

  1. They may come with your chemical order.
  2. Search the links below.
  3.  You can get them from the manufacturer or vendor. Here's a few for your reference:

Fisher Scientific:  Searchable by Fisher Scientific catalog number, CAS number, chemical name or supplier part number.
Malinkrodt/Baker (now Avantor):  Search by product number, product name or CAS number.

Sigma-Aldrich:  Search by product number.

VWR: Searchable website.
