**Changes to the HSC HRPP/IRB Fee Collection Process

Published: Friday, June 21, 2024

It is University HRPP policy that the HSC HRPP charges an HRPP / IRB fee for initial and continuing review of industry sponsored human research projects.  Payment of these fees is the responsibility of the PI’s department submitting the application, and is due upon completion of HRPP / IRB review.  Fees are due regardless of review outcome, sponsor contract status, or enrollment status.

Effective July 1, 2024, new study submissions that are subject to HRPP / IRB fees will require the department’s chartfield spread (CFS) number in the Application. Upon completion of the HRPP / IRB review, the HRPP Office will enter the cost transfer from the department’s CFS, and will send the department the transfer information along with documentation of the invoice for the department to send to the study funding entity for reimbursement purposes.

Please contact Donna Hogan at donna-hogan@ouhsc.edu for any questions you may have about the new process.

>>>> iRIS Implementation/Impact:

The HSC and Relying on an External IRB applications will be revised to collect the chartfield spread information. ALL STUDIES that meet the criteria for IRB fees will see this new question if/when a new version of the application is created, because we cannot restrict access to new studies only.  The new question and fields will be required so all studies should be prepared to enter a chartfield spread number. The HRPP Office will only use this information for new studies submitted or pending approval as of July 1.
